To celebrate this landmark, we are hosting 'John Nisbet Day'.

 

On August 11th this will take place, with events on for both the adults and the kids.

 

 

Celebrating the 300th birthday of John Nisbet, Eyemouth Merchant and notorious smuggler who built Gunsgreen House

Saturday 11th August 2012

Starting at Gunsgreen House at 10.30am

10.30am: Talk ‘John Nisbet- his life and times’ by Derek Janes for the adults

10.30am: ‘John Nisbet’ storytelling and games with pocketful KIDS (at Gunsgreen) for the children

11.15am Tour of Gunsgreen House

12.00pm: Group walk over to town led by Derek Janes talking about 18th Century Eyemouth

12.30-1.30pm: Buffet lunch at Oblo for the adults, including a glass of claret (the most smuggled wine)

12.30-1.30pm: Craft activity at pocketful for the kids with a ‘smugglers supper’ lunch box from Giacopazzi’s included.
